Sports halls for public use

FIFTEEN school indoor sports halls located islandwide will be open for public use by end of March.

The move to raise sports participation was announced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Community Development, Youth and Sports, and Transport) Teo Ser Luck in Parliament on Wednesday.

For badminton enthuasiast Melody Tan, 24, the change is welcome.

'Whenever I try to book a court online, it's always so fully booked,' she said. 'By opening up school halls, there will be more places for people to play.'
