SINGAPORE and Oman have concluded an Open Skies Agreement.
This allows Singapore carriers to operate unlimited passenger and cargo flights between the Republic and destinations in Oman, as well as beyond the Sultanate to other cities.
Likewise, Omani carriers may operate any number of flights to and beyond Singapore.
The latest agreement means that Singapore has now concluded OSAs with five countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
The agreement was reached during the air services consultations in Singapore last month.
Mr Lim Kim Choon, CAAS Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, said the agreement would allow carriers of both countries to 'take advantage of the immense growth opportunities in air travel between Singapore and the Middle East.'
Mr Lim noted that passenger traffic between Singapore and the Middle East grew significantly by 15 per cent compared to a year ago.
With the Singapore-Oman pact, Singapore has concluded OSAs with more than 30 countries.
