TWO cases of thefts from cars were reported on Thursday.
In the first incident, a self-employed man in his late 50s lost two laptops worth nearly $3,000 after his car was broken into on Thursday night.
The victim had parked his car in a carpark on Prinsep Street. When he returned from Sim Lim Square about 20 minutes later, he found the rear passenger window smashed. The two laptops were taken from the floorboard behind the driver's seat.
In the second case, a 36-year-old man who fell asleep in his parked car woke up to find himself robbed of cash and valuables.
About $2,300 in cash as well as two handphones and other personal documents were reported missing from the victim's pockets. The car was parked in an open area along Lorong Telok with the door on the driver's side open.
