SINGAPORE Airlines and its subsidiary SilkAir are cutting fuel surcharges for the third time in almost five months.
The reduced surcharges will take effect on flights on or after Wednesday, said SIA in a statement on Tuesday. They will apply only to SQ's short and medium-haul sectors, while SilkAir is cutting surcharges on all flights.
For example, on flights between Singapore and Asean countries, business class surcharges for both airlines will go down from US$32 to US$29 per sector.
Economy class passengers will also pay US$22 per sector, down from US$28.
On SilkAir flights between Singapore and all other points, business class passengers will pay US$85 per sector, instead of the previous US$90.
Economy class passengers will pay US$75 per sector, down from US$85.
The same surcharges will apply to SIA flights between Singapore and all other points, except for Europe, North America and South Arfica.
