TWO motorcyclists died within an hour of each other early on Monday in separate accidents. Later in the afternoon, a schoolboy died after he was hit by a truck.
In the first fatality, a Chinese man in his early 40s was riding along the Bukit Timah Expressway headed for the Pan-Island Expressway when he lost control of his bike.
He sustained serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 3.04am.
Only 10 minutes later, a Malay man in his early 20s also lost control of the motorcycle he was riding along Paterson Hill.
He died in Singapore General Hospital at about 4.20am.
In a third accident,, a nine-year boy was run over by a truck while using a zebra crossing at Commonwealth Avenue West on Monday afternoon.
The boy, a Singaporean permanent resident, sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the National University Hospital, but died shortly afterwards at 5.45pm.
The driver of the tipper truck was arrested but has been released on bail, pending further investigations.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to call the hotline on 1800-255-000.
