FROM June, SIA will fly the Airbus 380 superjumo on the Singapore-Paris route.
The daily service will replace the existing 10 times weekly 278-seat Boeing 777-300ER operations, the airline announced on Monday.
Configured with 471 seats, the introduction of a daily A380 on the Paris route 'will allow Singapore Airlines to match the growing demand of seats from both corporate and leisure customers, and better contribute to the economic development between France and the Asia-Pacific region' the airline said.
Paris is the airline's fourth A380 destination, after Sydney, London and Tokyo.
Said SIA in a statement: 'Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris is one of the busiest airports in Europe in terms of passenger traffic. The A380, with its large seating capacity, is well placed to fly there.'
Travellers will enjoy the same luxury they have been accustomed to on the B777-300ER.
Both aircraft types are fitted with SIA's new long-haul range of cabin products.
In economy class, there is more knee space and legroom.
Business travellers get 34-inch wide seats which converts into a fully flat bed within seconds.
The A380 also features the Singapore Airlines Suites. Each Suite, enclosed by sliding doors for privacy, is fitted with a leather-upholstered seat, a 23-inch LCD screen for inflight entertainment, and a full-sized flat bed that is separate from the seat.
Despite a global downturn in the travel industry which has forced SIA to cut more than 200 flights from now until the end of March, the airline continues to invest in customer satisfaction.
SIA currently has six A380s in service, out of a total of 19 ordered.
The introduction of the A380 on the Paris route will follow the delivery of the seventh and eighth A380s in the next few months.
The airline is also due to take delivery of its new Airbus 330 aircraft later this week.
