SINGAPORE'S Amazing Race Asia (Season 2) winner, Mr Collin Low, might just be in the running for another amazing race of sorts.
The 36-year-old submitted an application for the Best Job in the World, a job that pays the winning candidate A$150,000 (S$155,000) for a six-month stay on Hamilton Island to have as much fun as possible and report to a global audience via a blog.
'This is my dream. I've always loved the outdoors and the idyllic island lifestyle,' Mr Low, a regional sales director told AsiaOne.
'I visited the Great Barrier Reef in 1996 and I've always wanted to go back. It was amazing.'
And it is not just one man's dream job, judging from response to this campaign.
The official website (www.islandreefjob) crashed on Wednesday and the department had to upgrade from its one original server to 10 to handle the volume of visitors to the site.
Tourism Queensland has received more than 2,000 applications from the one million page views the site has garnered since Jan 11.
When asked what he thought about his chances of getting the job, Mr Low said: 'I took part in the Amazing Race without any expectations. So similarly, I'm just going to give this a shot. After all, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
'And if I do get the job, it would be great to share my experiences with everyone who is stuck in the office and to say 'Eat your heart out!'', he quipped.
