THE second bridge that will link Singapore to the resort-island of Sentosa is progressing smoothly and will be completed by the end of the year.
Resorts World at Sentosa, which is paying over $80 million to build the 710m new bridge gave a construction update of the project on Thursday. A spokesman said works started in March last year and is slated to be completed on schedule by September.
Once completed, the traffic heading in and out of Sentosa will be realigned. The new bridge will serve traffic heading to Sentosa, whereas the existing Causeway Bridge will cater to the outbound traffic and pedestrians.
RWS expects some 15 million people to flock to Sentosa annually once the integrated resort opens by March 2010.
