AFTER apparently being uncontactable for days, a former television actor has resurfaced - at a police station.
Mr Lin Yisheng, 43, has been shrouded by allegations levelled by a businessman who made a police report on Jan 2 claiming he withheld over $120,000 meant for a charity.
He was spotted walking into the Ang Mo Kio Police Division on Monday, apparently to respond to the allegations.
He emerged about 24 hours later and told Shin Min Daily outside the police station: 'The money is not charity proceeds. My conscience is clear.'
The dispute started with a celebrities' soccer match that Mr Lin organised in 2007 to raise funds for the Metta Welfare Association, which runs a school and a home for the disabled among other services.
The match apparently raised about $265,000. After deducting expenses, some $120,000 was supposed to go to Metta.
But more than a year on, Mr Lin had yet to honour his promise of handing the money to the charity, alleged the businessman.
Asked about this, the former actor, who said he ran an events planning company, replied: 'Being a company, we of course bring in revenue when we hold activities. So the sum is in fact, not charity proceeds.'
Queried further, he said he could not say more because of ongoing police investigations.
