FOR the first time in its 21-year history, the Boys' Brigade dipped heavily into its savings to run its Sharity Gift Box Christmas project last month, its organisers said on Friday.
The charity depends on corporate sponsors for its yearly $250,000 operations budget, which covers its food, transport and storage needs. The organisation managed to raise only $120,000 last year.
'Over the years, we've accumulated little bits of surplus,' said the Boys' Brigade executive director Desmond Koh.
