THE Housing Board has launched its last sales exercise for the year, offering 1,181 flats in Choa Chu Kang and Punggol ranging from studio apartments to five-room flats.
The Board said on Tuesday that this brings the total number of flats launched for 2008 to 7,793 units under its build-to-order scheme, marking the end of a year where demand for new HDB flats soared dramatically on the back of a property bullrun that ended recently.
The scheme ensures that flats are built only when a certain demand is reached.
The first of its two latest projects is Sunshine Court in Choa Chu Kang, which offers standard flats of 164 studio apartments, 117 three-roomers and 171 four-room flats ranging from $58,000 to $236,000.
This project is located along Choa Chu Kang Ave 3 and is opposite neighbourhood centre Sunshine Place which houses a supermarket, foodcourt and commercial shops.
The studio apartments are built with elderly-friendly features such as grab bars and non-slip flooring.
Built in wardrobes, kitchen cabinets and cooking facilities are also provided.
The second project is a premium one, of 546 four-room and 183 five-roomers with a price range of $252,000 to $428,000.
It is located at the junction of Punggol Field and Punggol Place and is near the future Punggol Town Centre.
The HDB also said the flats were priced affordably, with average households not having to fork out more than 25 per cent of their monthly income to service their loans.
Applications can be made on the HDB website www.hdb.gov.sg until Jan 12.
