A GROUP of Bangladeshi workers abandoned in their Tagore Lane living quarters when they lost their jobs went to bed on a full stomach on Thursday, but still without the pay they say is owed to them.
Talks between employer Tipper Corp and the workers also resulted in stalemate.
The 180 workers say they will not move from their quarters until they receive back pay of up to three months.
But Tipper Corp says the landlord has given them till Saturday to move out and the workers are unlikely to be paid by then.
The workers' problems started a week ago when they were told by one of two subcontractors hiring them that there was no more work, and they would not be paid their salaries.
On Wednesday, meal deliveries stopped and the electricity and water was cut off.
On Thursday, Tipper Corp provided the workers with three meals, while other individuals stepped in to help.
