SINGAPORE Press Holdings Magazines' Chief Executive Officer, Mr Loh Yew Seng, was nominated and elected to the Executive Board of The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) for 2008/2009 during its annual general meeting last week.
'It's a great honour to join SOPA's Executive Board,' Mr Loh said. 'My appointment us recognition of SPH Magazines' leading position and achievements in the regional publishing industry, as well as its status as the Publisher of Choice.'
SOPA is a non-profit organisation committed to responsible journalism and works to establish standards and guidelines for publishers.
Mr Alan Lammin, who was re-elected as SOPA chairman, warmly welcomed Mr Loh to the executive board.
'With the difficult times ahead, it is now more important than ever to provide a strong and united platform for Asian and international publishers to network and collaborate on common industry issues.'
