MS LO Hwei Yen was Singapore's first fatality in an overseas terrorist attack when she was killed in Mumbai two weeks ago. But she was not the only Singaporean victim of a terrorist attack abroad. Another Singapore woman who survived an attack in Saudi Arabia has told The Straits Times about her ordeal.
Ms Sheikha Zulaikha Mattar was relaxing with her colleagues at a poolside barbecue within a Saudi Arabian gated compound when she heard a loud thump, followed by gunshots.
It was about 11.15pm on May 12, 2003. Meat was still roasting on the pit. They thought nothing of the disturbance.
