45,000 new jobs
By Sue-Ann Chia

DESPITE the economic slump, Singapore will create more than 45,000 new jobs in the next two years.

About half will be in the two upcoming Integrated Resorts, with the other major employers coming from the health-care, retail and security sectors.

The figures, compiled by NTUC's new assistant secretary-general Ong Ye Kung, are, however, not reflective of the actual national job creation figures.
