A BUSINESSMAN was robbed of more than $47,000 in cash and valuables at a hawker centre toilet at Woodlands Central Road on Monday afternoon.
The 48-year-old man was in the toilet at the centre when a man barged into his cubicle, pointed a knife at him and demanded for his valuables.
The businessman handed over a $20,000 watch and cash of $23,000 and RM10,000 (S$4,200).
The culprit is said to be in his 40s, fair-complexioned and has dyed blond hair.
In another theft, a woman lost $2,250 in cash and valuables after her flat at Block 455, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5 was broken into on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old housewife locked up and left the flat in the morning. When she returned nine hours later at 7.30pm, she found the house ransacked and one of the windows facing the common corridor was slightly ajar.
Items were missing only from the master bedroom. She lost gold jewellery worth $2,000, a $200 cellphone and $50.
