GIVE way to buses coming out from the bus bay or face a fine of $130.
By the end of December, 23 bus bays will have yellow 'give-way to buses' boxes which motorists cannot enter if there are buses exiting.
Signs put up 100m before the bus stop as well as markings on the road will remind motorists that they have to do so.
A three-month pilot of this new scheme will be held at selected bus stops along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 and Toh Tuck Road.
After the pilot, motorists will be fined if they do not follow the rules and more bus bays will be chosen for the scheme.
The scheme is help buses move along more smoothly.
Currently, 10 per cent of a bus' total journey time is spent trying to exit bus bays.
