A CAR caught fire after it crashed onto the guard railing of a road centre divider early on Sunday morning.
The 29-year-old driver was travelling on Ayer Rajah Expressway towards Tuas when his car skidded near the 12.5km mark, veered to the right and smashed into the railing. He managed to escape from the car before the front of it caught fire.
But he suffered serious head injuries and was taken unconscious to the National University Hospital.
In anothe road accident, a 20-year-old motorcyclist died after his bike crashed along a slip road off the Pan-Island Expressway, leading to Corporation Road.
He was going round a right bend when he lost control of his bike and crashed on Sunday morning.
The motorcyclist, who suffered multiple injuries, was pronounced dead on the spot at 7.05am.
