Special flights for stranded
By Reico Wong
TWO special commercial flights have been arranged to fly back Singapore Airlines customers stranded in Bangkok from U-Tapao International Airport after the shutdown of the two airports in Bangkok.

The two flights are scheduled to depart from U-Tapao International Airport on Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm and 7 pm.

The U-Tapao airport is located near Pattaya, approximately 140 km from Bangkok.

'The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been coordinating closely with Singapore Airlines on the possibility of the Airline mounting additional flights,' a MFA spokesman said on Friday.

SilkAir will also be operating two more flights on Friday night and again on Saturday afternoon from Phuket to help those who have made their way there.

Singaporeans who wish to travel on these special commercial flights should make their bookings with the Singapore Airlines Office in Bangkok at +66 2353 6000 or Singapore Airlines Reservations in Singapore at +65 6223 8888.

Separately, Tiger Airways will also be mounting weekend flights from Phuket to Singapore.
