SINGAPORE and Jiangsu in China have increased their bilateral ties by inking 20 Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) worth roughly US$2.03 billion (S$3.05 billion) on Friday.
Among the 20 agreements signed on the sidelines of the high profile, second Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council meeting is a landmark MOU by IE Singapore and the Nanjing Municipal People's Government to support a commercially-driven project by a Singapore consortium to develop an eco high-tech city in Nanjing.
Minister of Health, Mr Khaw Boon Wan, said in his opening speech that the economic turmoil will not stop their bilateral collaboration. In fact, the country's partnership with Jiangsu is even more important during downturns.
