AN ELDERLY pedestrian died after he was knocked down by a taxi while crossing the road.

The accident took place at 6.20am on Wednesday along North Bridge Road.

Mr Foo Chee Hee, 62, was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he died later at 4pm.

The driver is assisting in investigations, said police.
