TWO forensic scientists found bloodstains that have not been traced yet.
Testifying on Wednesday at the trial of Tharema Vejayan Gonindasamy, who is accused of murdering his wife Smaelmeerah Abdul Aziz, Ms Vicky Chow Yuen San of the Health Sciences Authority's Criminalistics Laboratory, told the High Court that she found a bloodstain belonging to an unknown man on one of the victim's shoes.
The 32-year-old factory production operator was found dead at 4am on July 1 last year at the foot of a block of flats in Stirling Road. Tharema, 40, is alleged to have pitched her over after a fight. Senior forensic scientist Michael Tay also testified that there were two blood stains in the car that Tharema had ridden in after his wife's fatal fall.
One had her DNA but the other belonged to an unknown man. Mr Tay also testified on his analysis of the bloodstain pattern that led all the way from the bus-stop to the 13th floor of Block 181 from where Madam Smaelmeerah fell from.
While she was dripping blood from the bus-stop to the lift landing, there was blood splatter in the lift that indicated that she had been hit, he said. The corridor of the 13th floor was heavily stained with blood and there were signs her hair had been pulled very hard and many of these strands were bloodsoaked, he added. Stains outside of the parapet walls also indicated that she had brushed the facade of the building all the way down.
Mr Tay is expected to reconstruct the crime scene in the afternoon.
