THREE men died in separate road accidents over the last four days.

Two pedestrians were knocked down by passing vehicles while crossing the road.

On Friday, Mr Tan Kah Seng was hit by a van at a pedestrian crossing along Ang Mo Kio Street 11, said police.

The 54-year-old sustained a puncture wound to his throat and was seen bleeding from his mouth and ears. He was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he died three days later.

Another pedestrian, Mr Koh Ah Chwee, was knocked down by a taxi after he emerged from the centre divider and tried to cross the road. The accident took place on Sunday at 11.30am along the Pan-Island Expressway, police said.

The 38-year-old suffered severe injuries and was sent to Changi General Hospital where he died half an hour later.

In another accident along Keppel Way, Mr Lim Kim Toon was hit by a trailer truck as he was trying to divert traffic from a broken-down lorry on Sunday.

Police said the 58-year-old passenger got out of the lorry after it had broken down and was diverting traffic with the lorry driver when he was hit at 2.45pm.

He was pronounced dead on the spot by paramedics at 3.15pm.

The driver of the trailer truck was taken to Singapore General Hospital after he complained of chest pains.
