NANYANG Technological University is set to become the first campus in Asia to be supported by the Kauffman Foundation for entrepreneurship development, NTU announced on Wednesday.

The Kansas-based Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation funds entrepreneurship programmes and education in the United States.

Current Kauffman Campuses include Washington University in St Louis, Purdue University and Georgetown University.

While the foundation's constitution prohibits it from funding universities outside the US, it will provide advice and resources for NTU to establish its campus-wide entrepreneurship education programme.

NTU president Su Guaning said a memorandum of understanding would be signed in December, and that the university would tap the foundation's expertise in research and programme design.
