170 locally transmitted cases since August; Kaki Bukit and Woodlands among areas hit

THE mosquito-borne disease chikungunya is continuing its march here: More people have become infected in more locations.
From August up to now, 170 cases have been contracted here, as opposed to having been brought in from overseas.
After a spike to 23 cases a week in early August, the number of local transmissions has remained high - and this comes after only 23 local cases in the first seven months of the year.
