A YOUNG Mongolian woman was very drunk when she fell 10 floors to her death on her 23rd birthday, a coroner's court heard on Thursday.
Miss Tserenchunt Galsannorov, a student, was at a Rangoon Road apartment with her sister and cousin on the evening of May 6 when they had champagne to celebrate her birthday.
Later, all three, together with a friend, went drinking at Balaclava club at Suntec City.
They next went to St James Power Station nightspot for more booze.
At about 2am, Miss Galsannorov's 18-year-old sister left for home as she was tired.
Miss Galsannorov and her cousin, Miss Tamara Narantuya, 24, returned to the apartment past 5am where she continued drinking the leftover champagne.
Miss Narantuya missed her earring and went down to the void deck to look for it.
When she returned, she found Miss Galsannorov no longer at the dining table. Miss Naratuya saw a broken champagne glass on the floor and was clearing it when she heard some vomiting sound followed by 'Ah'.
She turned around and saw Miss Galsannorov falling over the metre-high balcony.
A toxicological report showed that Miss Galsannorov's blood alcohol level was 329mg per 100ml.
Investigating officer Desmond Chien said when Miss Galsannorov returned home, she was was talking incoherently, walking unsteadily and needed help from her cousin to get into the unit.
At an inquiry into her death on Thursday State Coroner Victor Yeo found that she had accidentally fallen to her death from the balcony in a drunken state and recorded a verdict of misadventure.
