Shorter wait at ICA building
THE Immigrations & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has installed four customer-service kiosks within its Kallang Road building.

These kiosks will accept applications for passports, visas and student passes or for extensions of stay here, among other e-services.

The kiosks come with features such such photo scanners, printer function and offer Nets or CashCard payment modes.

An ICA spokesman said these services are on the ICA website, but the kiosks will be a help to those without the equipment to scan photos at home, or those who cannot make the credit card payments required by the website; it also helps people without Internet access, such as foreigners.

An ICA spokesman said the kiosks would cut down waiting time by about 60 per cent; plans are in the works to set up more in the building and around Singapore.
