In the first incident, a 75-year-old woman was robbed of $4,000 in jewellery while she was walking along the corridor outside her flat at Block 64, Kallang Bahru at about 9.30am.
A man grabbed her by the neck, covered her mouth and pushed her to the ground.
He made off with two gold bangles worth $4,000.
The man is described to be in his 40s, dark-complexioned, about 1.65m tall and has short, black hair.
He was wearing a white t-shirt inside a blue checkered, short-sleeved shirt and had on three quartered pants.
The second incident took place at about 9pm on Thursday.
A woman in her early 30s lost nearly $900 in cash and valuables to a snatch thief.
She was standing at the bus stop in front of Block 140, Jalan Bukit Merah, when a man beside her reached over and grabbed her $470 wallet and $400 cellphone.
She gave chase but could not catch up.
The man fled in the direction of Block 145 in the same housing estate.
She also lost $20 and some personal documents.
The man is described to be in his early 20s and was wearing a beige jacket, white t-shirt, dark-coloured pants and a white cap.
