A MAN who used abusive language and spat at a bus driver was fined $3,000 by a district court on Thursday.
According to court documents, Ng Boon Hong, 45, boarded SBS Transit No. 2 along Eu Tong Sen Street on March 18.
He asked the 65-year-old driver how much was the fare to Bedok and was told that it would cost him $1.50.
But when Ng dropped the fare into the coin box, some coins fell outside of it and the driver asked Ng to place the coins in properly.
Ng scolded the driver and went to the rear of the bus to sit down.
When they reached Victoria Street, Ng went up to the driver again and swore and spat at him.
The driver called the police later.
