Elderly woman robbed

A 78-YEAR-OLD woman lost $55 to a snatch thief on Monday morning.

After she had entered the lift on the ground floor of Block 271, Queen Street, a man rushed in and grabbed her purse. He made off with it when the lift door opened on the fourth floor.

The man is described as dark-complexioned, in his 40s and about 1.75m tall. He was wearing a red-t-shirt.

In another case, a 20-year-old man was robbed of more than $400 in cash and valuables by two men on Saturday evening.

He was walking along Tah Ching Road in Taman Jurong when two men came up to him and led him to a staircase at the nearby Block 323.

They punched his face and head and demanded for his cellphone and wallet, which he handed over. They fled with his wallet containing $130 and a $280 cellphone.

The first man is described as tanned with yellow-dyed hair. He had on a white t-shirt and had piercings on his eyebrow and upper lip.

The second man had on a green t-shirt and white-framed glasses. He also has a tattoo removal scar on him.
