A JOBLESS man was charged in court on Tuesday with attempted robbery of $200 from a cabby.

Khoo Thiam Hock, 37, is alleged to have tried to rob Mr Tan How Leng, 58, of cash while armed with a 30cm long knife along Upper Boon Keng Road on Monday.

Khoo was remanded for further investigation.

He will appear in court again on Oct 20.

If convicted, he faces a jail term of between two and seven years and at least six strokes of the cane.
