SMALL supermarkets, feeding on increasing numbers of customers, are taking root in the HDB heartland.
Spanning no more than four shop units, these mini-versions of big supermarket chains stock fresh produce and frozen food, taking them several steps up from the traditional provision shop.
Most carry common vegetables such as caixin, kailan and fresh or frozen chicken, while some even have salmon.
