This is the message this year's 37th annual Heart Fair is driving home to Singaporeans.
Details of the fair were unveiled at a media conference held in Yuhua Community Club on Thursday.
The fair, themed 'Know your risk', will be held from Oct 11 to 12 at Jurong East Interchange, as part of the Singapore Heart Foundation's (SHF) celebration of World Heart Day 2008.
There will be activities and services at the fair for the whole family such as supermarket tours conducted by professional nutritionists, lucky draws and a song-writing competition.
A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) kit, called CPR 3A (Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere), will be officially launched at the Heart Fair this weekend.
It includes a personal inflatable CPR mannequin, a CPR practice DVD, CPR reference materials and accesories such as spare lungs for the mannequin.
The launch of the CPR kit is in line with SHF's Heart Safe mission which aims to improve Singapore's out-of hospital cardiac arrest rate which currently stands at 2.7 per cent as compared to 30 to 40 per cent in the United States.
