WHEN artists who had performances scheduled at the Esplanade found out their dates coincided with the three weeks leading up to the Formula One (F1) race here, they pulled out.
This means the arts centre is looking at about $750,000 in losses, money it would have made if the 24 scheduled performances had gone on as planned.
The acts pulled out from their line-up at the end of last year, once the dates of F1's inaugural night race were confirmed in July last year.
