THE getai stage has become a battleground for two of the hottest movies in town.

Local directors Jack Neo and Royston Tan have come out from behind the camera to use their own performing talents to promote their latest movies, Money No Enough 2 and 12 Lotus respectively.

The directors, along with stars from their movies, are delighting capacity crowds of heartlander uncles and aunties with live acts of songs and saucy banter delivered in Hokkien.

The getai live song-and-dance acts traditionally performed during Hungry Ghost month are providing the ideal platform to promote the movies, say the directors.
