VISIONS/DREAMS
THE psychic concentrates on the belongings of a victim and receives visions about how the crime happened.
In March 1986, the police in Portland, Oregon, in the United States received a call from the husband of a 21-year-old woman, claiming that she had fled their home in a wealthy suburb.
The woman's mother consulted a psychic, who told the officers that the missing woman had been strangled by her husband, that water was important to the case and that the husband's younger brother was also implicated.
From the leads, the case was solved. The husband had strangled the woman and buried her near a river with the help of his younger brother.
MEDITATION
THE psychic enters into a trance-like state and recounts details of the crime.
In 1997, Mr Dennis Prado, 71, vanished from his home in California.
At his family's request, a psychic meditated and gave the police details about the green walls and furniture in Mr Prado's new house, even though she had never been there.
She also told them he was alive and wandering in a massive national park. She also managed to pinpoint the location where he would be found and predicted that a search dog would lead the police to the man.
All the information proved correct. Mr Prado was found alive in a huge national forest where he often went for walks in California.
PSYCHIC DETECTIVES
THEY operate in a manner similar to that of criminal detectives, sometimes working in pairs to solve a case.
In 1994, two psychic detectives were said to have helped the police in Oklahoma arrest the murderers of a 22-year-old man, who had been kidnapped and killed.
They correctly predicted that the man's body would be found near a railway track, that it was wrapped in a blue blanket near a building and that he would be discovered by two deer hunters.
