Form a family, such as with a spouse, parents, children or orphaned siblings. Two single persons aged at least 35 may apply jointly.
Must not own or have an interest in private property. If the prospective renter has sold the property that was owned, at least 30 months must pass before he or she can apply for a rental flat. This also applies to others living in the flat.
Those who had bought two flats directly from the HDB are not eligible for a rental flat.
