BANGKOK - A THAI court has ordered anti-government demonstrators to clear a road they have blocked leading to the prime minister's office, setting up a possible confrontation between thousands of protesters and security forces.
Bangkok's Civil Court says in a statement that it issued an injunction late Tuesday ordering demonstrators to allow government workers to enter the Government House.
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thuaksuban has said a favorable court ruling would give authorities the 'legitimacy' to implement further measures against the protesters who have been camped around the building since Thursday.
The demonstrators, supporters of ousted leader Thaksin Shinawatra, say the government came to power through illegal means. -- AP
