Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi sent condolences to his Thai counterpart Kasit Piromya over the incident which occurred soon after the midnight countdown, leading to at least 59 deaths, the Xinhua news agency said.
Thailand had requested the US$500,000 as humanitarian aid to help buy medicine for victims of the fire, which also injured more than 200 people, it said.
Chinese skin-grafting experts have also offered to treat blaze victims, the report said.
