STI closes 1.35% lower

SINGAPORE shares closed down on Thursday with the benchmark Straits Times Index falling 31.73 points, or 1.35 per cent, to 2,320.82.

About 1.4 billion shares were traded.

Losers beat gainers 251 to 176.
