US doesn't expect rating cut
WASHINGTON - WHITE House press secretary Robert Gibbs says he doesn't expect the US government's credit rating to be cut.

Mr Gibbs says President Barack Obama is more concerned about 'getting in place a recovery plan that will create jobs and get this economy moving again.'

Investors were worried about a possible cut after a credit rating agency warned this week that Britain's rating could be lowered because its debt is rising faster than expected.

Like the US, the British government is playing a big role in bailing out that country's banks. -- AP
