Ssangyong may shed jobs

GOYANG (South Korea) - SSANGYONG Motor Co , a South Korean sports utility vehicle maker under court receivership, is considering job cuts, its court-appointed president said on Thursday.

'We have not made a decision. But we are considering it,' said President Park Young Tae, when asked about possible job reductions on the sidelines of the Seoul Motor Show.

South Korean companies mostly avoid large-scale layoffs, resorting instead to other cost-cutting measures. -- REUTERS
