FRANKFURT - VOLKSWAGEN, the biggest European car maker, said Friday its sales dropped by 16.5 per cent in November from the same month last year, a sign that it too had been caught by the global economic slowdown.
Unit sales came to 447,000 vehicles, a statement said.
Since Janu 1, the Volkswagen group, which includes the Audi, Seat and Skoda brands, delivered 5.73 million vehicles.
VW has until now resisted the auto sector slump better than rivals, in particular the German luxury car makers BMW and Daimler.
In October, VW had posted a sales decrease of 5.0 per cent. -- AFP
