Asian food is underrated

MS LEISA Tyler may be a regional head judge for the World's 50 Best Restaurants list but she is not afraid to admit that the list is imperfect and lacks an Asian presence.

The international restaurant ranking is widely followed by foodies around the globe but it also attracts criticisms every year it is released.

A common critique is that restaurants in non- European countries are not sufficiently represented.

Among the top 50 restaurants announced in April, only two are from Asia - Les Creations de Narisawa in Japan at No. 20 and Singapore's modern European restaurant Iggy's at The Regent hotel which came in at No. 45.
