HOLLYWOOD - POPULAR science-fiction TV show Heroes will return for a fourth season despite falling audience numbers in the US.
An NBC executive told the Hollywood Reporter that the the network planned to order 18 to 20 new episodes.
According to a BBC report ratings in the US dipped from a peak of nearly 14 million during season one in 2006, to 8.5 million midway through the third season.
The third season is still being screened in the US.
Heroes features characters with powers including regeneration and telepathy.
The show won a Golden Globe and a People's Choice Award for favourite new TV drama in its first season.
