YOUR favourite household appliances may soon be designed in Singapore - in a laboratory at Toa Payoh Lorong 3, to be exact.
Electrolux, the Sweden-based global leader in home and professional appliances, launched its regional headquarters and design lab here on Wednesday.
Located in the Jackson Square industrial park, the Design Innovation Centre will serve as its main design hub in Asia Pacific.
On the move to have Singapore spearhead design in this region, Electrolux's head of major appliances in Asia Pacific Gunilla Nordstrom said the Republic 'is an emerging international design hub with a strong talent pool of designers' and its supportive government framework made it a straightforward decision to establish Electrolux's key design centre and operations here.
The headquarters was set up under the Economic Development Board's Headquarters programme.
