Hong Kong - Singer Vivian Chow's 19-year romance is on the rocks, after her beau's drunken kiss with a young woman made the front page of a tabloid on Monday, reported newspapers.

Joe Ni, the 44-year-old writer and son of sci-fi author Ni Kuang, was photographed making out with the woman in a bar in the Lan Kwai Fong district on Sunday, according to a report in the Oriental Sunday tabloid.

When they walked out of the pub, her hand was on his arm. He was seen going home to Chow, 41, however.

Later, in an e-mail exchange with the tabloid, he apologised to his girlfriend for putting her in an unhappy, embarrassing situation.

He said he was too drunk on Sunday night and did not even know the woman's name. He added that as a public figure and as the boyfriend of a public figure, he was ashamed of his actions and would bear the consequences.

According to Ming Pao Daily News, Chow is angrier than she has ever been with him.

In the past, she chose to trust him when rumours circulated about his dalliances, the newspaper said. But the front-page expose of his latest indiscretion has forced her to face up to the facts.
