With ticket sales and sponsorship falling, theatre groups turn to tried-and-tested shows to draw crowds in these bad times
DURING the curtain call after a play, actors routinely appeal to the audience to tell their friends to watch the production too.
And so at the curtain call for theatre group Toy Factory Production's First Light last Wednesday, veteran actor Lim Kay Siu stepped forward with his appeal.
But the message carried a note of urgency: 'Tickets are not selling that well,' he said. 'So if you enjoyed the show, please, please tell your friends and family to come.'
