STORM Large is one of the highlights of the upcoming Singapore Drumfest music festival this weekend. But forecasts of real thunderstorms have forced the organisers to move the outdoor event indoors.
Originally slated to be at the Fort Canning Green, all the events will now take place in the Fort Canning Centre building next to it.
They are also expecting a 1,500-strong audience - half of the original target of 3,000 due to the smaller indoor space and the current rainy spell.
Festival producer Nigel Mosbergen says having the events under one roof means the audience can move from room to room and enjoy the different performances.
Despite the name, the music festival, which is into its second instalment this year, features not only global drumming and percussion stars such as drummer Teddy Campbell and Mamady Keita & the Lila Drums Djembe Project, but also rock singer Large, R&B singer Sy Smith and guitarist Rafael Moreira from reality television hits such as American Idol and Rock Star.
