FORGET about travelling to New York, London, Paris and the other art capitals to check out what galleries there are showing.
Until tomorrow, many of these cutting-edge galleries are showing their work here at Showcase Singapore.
This new international art fair opened alongside the Singapore Biennale.
The showcase is organised by Singapore-based Fortune Cookie Projects, a curatorial and arts advisory service founded in 2006 by American Howard Rutkowski, who was the former director of modern and contemporary Art at British auction house Bonhams in London, and Mary Dinaburg, founder and director of Dinaburg Arts LLC, a New York-based company that designs art programmes for major international corporations.
On why they picked Singapore for this art fair, Mr Rutkowski, 53, says: 'We see the vast potential of developing the growing arts market here.'
